Worked well for what I needed it to do.

Worked well for what I needed it to do.
This review is for the "old package" version of the 3/4 inch circle punch. The "new package" version may be just as good, but I don't know. I bought the punch to cut reinforcement circles for snaps out of ~50 mil (~1.25 mm or slightly thicker than a US dime) rubber. The rubber (just barely) fit into the punch and I was able to punch out well over 100 circles with no problem. I can't speak to other uses for the punch but for my purposes it worked like a champ. The punch feels very solid and produces a clean round punch.

I ordered this press to do stickers to personalize "H" Kisses Candies for an event. I was worried it was a little small, but it was actually the perfect size for the candy. This punch is easy to use, sturdy and cuts very cleanly. Highly recommend.

This ended up wearing out and shredding the edges of my punches. Just recently bought the new version of the same punch and it cuts much cleaner edges. I like the lever style, but the new ones are just as easy to use and produce better results.

So, I purchased the 3/4 Inch in Old Package, 1/2 inch in the new. The Older Package = more solid/heavy, feels nicer and more luxurious. But it takes up more space because of it's size/thickness, and the fact that it does not have the handy dandy lever that keeps it closed. The newer package is sleeker, but also cheaper looking/feeling, and contrary to the picture, it is this ugly pale-concrete colored plastic. But it seals shut nicely (flattens) to take up SUCH less space. Performance-wise, it is a joy to use the older package, but because of the weight, it's also a wee bit harder to control. The newer package has its own issues: more difficult to control because it's so thin/light, just kind of pops out of place more easily. If I were to do it again, I'd probably go for storability and get the newer packaging because I don't punch nearly enough holes for the comfort to make or break me. If you're going to use this thing all day, every day, look for the older package: luxury over storability!

This does not give a clean punch. Tried it on regular paper and card stock. Both came out with some parts having ragged edges.

Works great for my son's math homework - when they are required to put colored "coins" in order for logic type math problems. This way, he doesn't have to cut out little circles - I can pre-punch them for him. Cutter is quite sharp and cuts easily so far.

I've decided to start making buttons from recycled cardboard - I needed something not to large and this works perfectly. So perfectly that I'm probably going to go ahead and buy the 1 inch punch as well to make some larger buttons. And maybe some squares to make solid objects. It cuts through the various thicknesses of cardboard very, very well!

This is a great hole maker to work on paper, the problem is that we wished to use it to make holes in felt. For this is utterly useless. I just think it should be stated in the product description that other than paper this is not a good hole maker to have.

It seems sturdy and well constructed, so if your crafts involve only paper, go ahead and order it.

I've tried many hole puncher and they didn't work on thick paper. This works on manila paper, perfect substitute for the expensive rabbit hole puncher.
